They have innovative products, and partner with local and national clients to come up with new products and provide new contract services to companies in all sorts of different industries.
The role includes responsibility for 100% of the unit you are looking after - the output in terms of product availability, packed, production, or both. You need to have a right first time mentality in order to meet and exceed your production targets. You will have the ability to instil pride and ownership within your team to enable them to drive performance via a safety, quality, delivery, plant, cost and people culture.
As you`d expect as a Production Manager, your main job is to achieve what is on the production schedule:
- To do this you will maintain visibility on the shop floor, driving performance of your team and support functions in order to deliver the production plan. You will be able to manage your team using an agreed performance management system which is designed to develop and drive performance by providing quality feedback.
- You`ll manage the production schedule in sequence and to plan and communicate all changes
- You`ll seek out new and innovative ways to deal with production issues and project manage issues to completion.
- You`ll manage Attendance/ Absenteeism/ Good timekeeping, working with the HR department to highlight any personnel issues and resolve them. This will help you maintain good employee relations - As part of the above you`ll ensure shift staffing is to agreed levels at ALL times and within budget. - Actively engaging with the shift team to solve problems, drawing on the expertise and talent on the shift.
To be considered for this position, you will need to have proven knowledge and/or qualification in production management operations, and be a self-motivated person able to get the best out of the team that works for you.
The role requires you to work 42 hours per week minimum - This will typically be worked as a three shift pattern of 8 hour shifts. The remaining 104 hours per annum will be worked on a flexible basis, to meet the needs of the business, including some weekend working.
