Head of Legal - East Carleton, Norfolk
Summary

This key role as part of the Group Lotus Plc Senior Management team is responsible for leading on the provision of legal advice and guidance on a range of issues, risk management and compliance with legislation. The incumbent will be responsible for a broad range of legal services including regulatory compliance, commercial and employment guidance, company secretary requirements, maintaining legal documentation, writing of legal documents and assessing of legal contracts on behalf of Group Lotus Plc.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading all drafting and writing of legal documents and assessing of legal contracts on behalf of Group Lotus Plc.
• Leading legal support and communication of new legal development.
• Provide accurate and timely advice on a broad range of legal framework and policies to management and various departments to ensure compliance with legal requirements and reduce exposure to legal risk.
• Maintaining of all legal documents, contract documentation and perform changes when advised.
• Provide timely advice on all matters referred to the inhouse legal services team including, contract agreements commercial governance, legislation and regulation.
• Managing external and internal legal resources where required, assessing or advising effectively to minimize or prevent risks to the company, ensuring that system controls and processes are appropriate and relevant.
• Making decisions on the appropriate course of action on various legal matters, assessing risk protecting the business and the Lotus brand.

Essential Criteria
• Degree in Law or similar discipline.
• Good knowledge in new process and standard operating procedures.
• Knowledge in overall legal processes.
• Knowledge in international legal regulations.
• Knowledge in business proposals.
• Excellent legal writing skills.
• Good presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective problem solving skills.
• Skill to coach and motivate team members.

Desirable Criteria
• Master degree in Law.
• Experience in automotive industry, manufacturing or engineering related industry.
