BMR Solutions is currently looking to recruit for a buyer to work for our client who are a manufacturing and engineering company based in Stonehouse.

Position: Buyer
Salary: £26,000 to £28,000
Job Type: Permanent
Shift: Days

An exciting vacancy has become available for a Buyer responsible for all purchasing within a well-established manufacturing and engineering company based in Stonehouse.

The role:

The procurement specialist will administer the purchasing module to deliver cost effective, timely and value added purchasing to all internal customers and will manage all aspects of procurement within the supply base in a professional and ethical manner with due regards to total acquisition cost, on time delivery, quality, and continuous improvement and cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

·Ensure that all procedures are complied with also maintaining the highest personal, professional and ethical standard
·Executing purchase orders via Sales Plan, Sales Order Book, Re Order Point, MRP, Kanban and Purchase Requisitions to meet business requirements
·Ensure suppliers maintain on time delivery
·Ensure standard costs and lead times are maintained within the MRP System
·Managing purchases / stock to meet Stock Turn goals and objectives
·Develop supplier base and partnerships to create a reliable and long-term source of supply
·Identify and report cost savings in line with business objectives
·Generating and maintaining Supplier Agreements

Key requirements:

·Purchasing experience within a manufacturing based environment
·A proven track record in cost reductions
·Experience in the negotiation of supply agreements
·Familiarity with quality tools and techniques
·A good understanding of engineering drawings in order to identify suitable manufacturing processes and potential suppliers
·The ability to manage workloads
·CIPS qualified or part qualified would be desirable but not essential
·3 years minimum experience

Person specification:

The successful applicant will be a good team worker, with strong communication and inter personal skills. Highly self motivated and organised, they will be able to maintain a pro active approach to the responsibilities of this role, which are essential to the success of projects and purchasing best practice.
