First Line Manager - West Midlands
A leading Retail Giant have a very exciting opportunity for a First Line Manager to join their fast paced, expanding Distribution Centre in the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities of First Line Manager:

* Monitor, plan and organise resources within the team, influencing the shift operations manager to ensure daily targets are met
* Lead and manage all associates within your team including probationary reviews and monthly/annual appraises to develop a high performing team
* Nurture, develop and coach talented individuals to ensure future succession
* Responsibility for regular team briefing sessions delivering company information updates and encourages feedback building team morale.
* Exercise and implement best standard practice
* Responsibility of monitoring all reports and data to a high standard of accuracy
* Ensure full compliance of the companies health and safety policies are met
* To attend the health and safety committee on a regular basis
* Ensuring site compliance with all relevant legislation/regulations
* Co-ordinate the promotion of safe working behaviours in the workplace by ensuring clear communication and consistent messages across the site
* Promote and encourage continuous improvement
* Manage all disciplinary and grievance issues in line with HR policy and procedures
* Encourage effective communication, leadership, motivation, training and development

Your Requirements:

* Experience of working in a fast paced target driven environment and managing at least 40FTE'S
* Ability to engage, motivate and influence to deliver results through your team
* Communication skills are crucial at all levels verbally and written
* Proven background in prioritising work efficiently, setting and achieving measurable daily targets and working within set budgets
* Proven track record with sickness, absence and performance management
* Unionised background
* Excellent strong influencing and leadership skills
* Basic computer literacy
* Ensure key KPI's are met to ensure quality and excellent service levels are achieved
* Continuous Improvement/Lean Implementation
* Able to effectively to manage relationships with internal stake holders and customers
* Demonstrating a resolutely positive "can do" attitude
* Taking the initiative to encourage cooperation
