Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians (Shifts) - Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Our client, an international engineering business in the Gloucester area, is now looking to recruit experienced Maintenance Technicians to join their team!

THIS ROLE INVOLVES WORKING A 3 WEEK ROTA:

Week 1 - 6am - 2pm
Week 2 - 2pm - 10pm
Week 3 - 10pm - 6am

Currently there is a requirement to be on call once every 3 weeks. The rate for this is £50 per week.

Job Summary:

Main Duties:

• Liaise with other departments over maintenance issues
• Plan and co-ordinate maintenance activities with department employees and other departments
• Plan and implement small improvement and refurbishment projects
• Maintain ancillary equipment during production hours
• Support and develop planned maintenance system
• Support and direct contractors when and where applicable
• Prevent accidents in the workplace
• Awareness of submitting near misses
• Flexibility for maintenance cover during holiday/sickness periods
• Ensure that all Company policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
• Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental rules are adhered to
• Participate in GENESIS activities as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Manager and Plant Manager

Applicants will be expected to stand in for the Maintenance Team Leader and therefore current team leader experience is essential. Excellent organisational and people management skills are also required.

Requirements of the position

Corporate:
• Achievement of Department KPI’s.
• Knowledge of company objectives, department goals and KPI’s.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work as part of a team.
• Awareness and Adherence of Health and Safety Policies.
• Knowledge of lean initiatives and participation in work groups.
• Positive Approach to change/flexibility, including 3 shift, 4 shift and weekend cover for production support.
• Maintaining a Relationship with internal/external customers, suppliers and contractors.
• Is resilient, optimistic and open to change
• Maintaining Good Housekeeping standards (5S).

Essential:
• ONC level or equivalent qualifications in either mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
• Relevant electrical qualifications including 17th Edition.
• Mechanical/Multi Skilling Maintenance Experience/Qualifications.
• Experience within a volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience within an automated manufacturing environment.
• Computer literacy, word, excel, outlook etc.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good time management /planning skills.
• Good problem analysis and problem solving skills.
• Good knowledge of fault finding and diagnosis on hydraulic systems.
• Good knowledge of fault finding and diagnosis on pneumatic systems.
• Good knowledge of fault finding and diagnosis on electrical and electronic systems.

Desirable:
• Good Understanding and Knowledge of PLC
• Boom/scissor lift licence.
• FLT Licence.
• Basic MMA/MIG Welding and Fabrication Skills.
• Basic Machining Skills Manual Lathe/Milling machine.
